The Fourth Annual Mountainview LemonAID Day was bursting with sunshine, community spirit, and a whole lot of lemonade!

Thanks to thousands of donors across Niagara, an incredible $92,071 was raised for FACS Niagara’s summer camp program — enough to send more than 400 children to camp for an estimated 600 weeks of summer fun. That’s a whole lot of s’mores, swimming, crafts, and unforgettable memories.

On Saturday, June 7, families across Niagara set up lemonade stands everywhere from busy storefronts to front yards. To everyone who supported LemonAID Day, whether you poured a cup, hosted a stand, or made a donation, you helped make summer so much brighter for kids in our community.

“All kids deserve to have the chance to enjoy summer and experience everything summer camp has to offer,” said Rhianon Burkholder, Foundation Board Chair. “We’re grateful to everyone who participated and donated so kids served by FACS would have an equitable opportunity to go to summer camp.”

From horse camp to dance camp and everything in between, these unique summer adventures are tailored to the interests of the children we serve. And every year, we’re reminded of the impact — through the heartfelt letters, stories, and drawings we receive from happy campers.

A round of applause for our top fundraiser — six-year-old Xavier and his stand, The Citrus Twists, who raised over $4,200! 🍋👏

We’re also incredibly grateful to our title sponsor, Mountainview Building Group, for making this event completely free to participate in, along with our t-shirt sponsors, Alectra Utilities, Cotton Inc., Eleven Eleven Real Estate Services, Fonthill Lumber, and SilverLine Group Inc. A big shout out to our lemonade sponsor Tim Hortons at 170 Fourth Ave. in St. Catharines for keeping everyone stocked with lemonade concentrate.

From all of us at FACS Niagara: Thank you for making this a summer to remember for our kids!
