20 Years and Growing
You could say it takes 20 years to grow up. From infancy to toddler, school age to teenager. Before we know it, our children have turned into young adults, moving out on their own with new responsibilities and challenges. Our Foundation has grown and changed a lot in 20 years too and our growth has just begun. We hope you will join us along the way!
Family & Children’s Services Niagara works with some of our community’s most vulnerable children and their families. While FACS provides protection and support services for kids and families, the Niagara Foundation for Family & Children’s Services provides enrichments and opportunities to help local kids and families to be the best they can be.
Although FACS receives funding to provide protection and support services, FACS Foundation plays an important role in FACS’ mission by providing funds to enhance the programs and services offered, therefore relying on corporate, group and individual donors; and other private sources of funding. Recreation, education, capital projects and other initiatives are just a few examples of how the Foundation supports FACS in their important work.
Thanks to community support, each year:
- more than 400 children attend summer camp
- approximately 40 youth receive bursaries for post secondary education
- youth programs such as Home for the Holidays and New Outlooks and Beginnings support dozens of youth moving from foster care to living independently in the community
