Thank you for continuing to bring hope and happiness to Niagara’s most vulnerable children and families.
Without you, they could become overwhelmed by the life challenges that they face every day. They might lose hope.
Thankfully, despite the many obstacles they encounter, hope continues to light the way to a better today and a brighter tomorrow.

This past year, hope came in the form of special summer experiences for 65 children who attended the COVID-safe, week-long YMCA camps in August. Hope also provided 110 children and youth “Summer Smiles at Home” activity baskets to help them enjoy their summer.

For 37 young people in foster care or in group home care, hope was an education bursary this September – providing assistance with the costs of post-secondary education. Since their studies continued virtually, eight of our youth are attending university, and 29 are attending college. Your support helps pay their tuition, and cover the costs of books, accommodations and living expenses. Your support helps give them hope for their future.

Hope is especially critical to the 140 youth who are making the transition from foster care to living independently in the community. These youth have experienced turbulent childhoods or loss of family. They now face the future where they must depend on themselves. That’s why our youth programs offer support, the knowledge that they are not alone, and the hope they will be resilient as they venture into our world as young adults.

During these unprecedented times, hope came for more than 250 families who needed basic necessities like food, diapers, toiletries, health care products, masks and hand sanitizer, and cleaning supplies. With continued donor backing, we hope to support many more of our 800 families during the Festive Season and into the New Year.

This Holiday Season, thank you for giving the Gift of Hope so that our community’s children, youth and families can continue to experience the happiness they deserve, and the hope that they need, to make it through to a better place in their lives.

Hope comes in many forms and can change the life of a child.

Hope is a gift. Thank you for sharing that gift. We appreciate your generous support of this special Gift of Hope.

And, we wish you and your family all the best this Holiday Season and in 2021!
